Node Pole has announced on its website that SAP has signed an agreement with Trollhättan, which will enable the German software giant to build a data center on an area of 60,000 square meters in Western Sweden. Node Pole worked closely with both SAP and Trollhättan municipality to get the investment to Trollhättan

The choice of Trollhättan in Sweden guarantees future sustainable datacenter operations for SAP. With Sweden's fossil free electricity production, robust electricity grids and excellent business climate, Sweden has emerged as a strong and sustainable choice in recent years. This fits well with SAP's intention to be climate neutral by 2025.

“Swedish electricity production based on hydropower is an excellent opportunity for the datacenter industry to grow sustainably in Sweden. The municipality of Trollhättan has worked exemplary in creating the right conditions for establishments, and the SAP decision is further proof of Sweden's strong ability to attract the large global companies to invest in Sweden”, says Patrik Öhlund CEO Node Pole.

For Sweden, this is another green deal that demonstrates the many benefits Sweden has to offer. The Nordic region is developing into the next big data center hub in Europe, "a real sustainability gain for the entire EU", Öhlund adds.

The municipality of Trollhättan has a long industrial tradition with electricity-intensive industries, hydropower production and broad expertise in mechanical engineering. The municipality is also attractive to investors from a national and international point of view due to its geographical proximity, access to infrastructure, competence and competence centers. SAP will pay 19.2 million Swedish crowns, around 1.9 million euros, for the 60,000 square meters.
